Meet Lee Earls, our Site Coordinator for the Louise Odom Children’s Center. This special building houses two toddler rooms and one infant room, providing love, security, and developmentally appropriate activities and materials for our littlest community members to discover. Ms. Lee started as a classroom teacher with King’s Daughters in November of 2014 and was promoted to LOCC Site Coordinator when we opened the new facility in May of last year. We are so grateful for the warmth she shows every family and the leadership and support she provides for our classroom teachers.

Why do you like working at the center?

We are home away from home for the children and families we serve.

What’s your favorite time of the day at the center?

My favorite time is when families and children arrive each morning. I love to see all the hugs and kisses, and I love that I get to be that special person if one of our little guys needs a little more love when our families are off to work. Also, I love to hear all the stories of what families have enjoyed or did while they were together.

What do you like to do when you aren’t at King’s Daughters?

I have a daughter Aaliyah who lives in Memphis.  I like to go shopping with her when we can. I like to read books and watch movies and football.

Tell us about your experience related to your position as the Coordinator of the LOCC.

I have been in early childhood education for 23 years. I had a home daycare center for 3 years, I have been an infant/toddler teacher in a classroom setting. I was a Pre-K and school age teacher for 13 years. I was a Family Specialist at a center, as well as an Assistant Director and a Site Coordinator.

Are you from Nashville?

I have lived in the Nashville area most of my life. I lived in Ashland City, TN during my high school years. I have a CDA and attending Nashville State Community College.

Do you have a favorite memory of working at King’s Daughters?

The opening of the LOCC was very special!

What’s the funniest thing a child has said to you at King’s Daughters?

I was trying to hula hoop – a child said, “you will get it when you grow up.”
